[jira] [Commented] (PIG-5159) Fix Pig not saving grunt history

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PIG-5159?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15888350#comment-15888350 ]

Adam Szita commented on PIG-5159:
---------------------------------

Looks like the old version of jline took care of history persistence itself (after each line being read from console): https://github.com/jline/jline/blob/master/src/main/java/jline/History.java#L102
The new version doesn't, we have to call flush() explicitly.

[~daijy], can you please take a look at [^PIG-5159.0.patch]

> After quitting Pig (grunt) and restarting it I cannot see my last Pig latin statements.
> Cause is that pig history file (~/.pig_history) is only being read on Pig startup, but is not being written. This can be traced back to the recent jline upgrade PIG-3851.
