Re: Bug 26489 - Pluto's nightly build process has been broken

I tried harder to understand the content of the generated build.xml and
failed. I have got a feeling that the generated 'build.xml' can not be
used to build the three jar files for Pluto.
Any more ideas ? Waiting curiously ...

It is not as easy as proposed. The correction of the path does not fix
the problem (unfortunately).

Do not care about this. This happened, because ant/java was not
configured as appropriate to use the right proxy. I have fixed this in
between.

I don't mind helping out on this. I've actually got the multiproject
working allready. There were only some small modifications that were
needed: things like the portal's project.properties file having a space
in the maven.multiproject.type=war. I'll see if I can't get a diff
together of all the necessary changes to make multiproject work and
submit a patch later on today. . .

The other good thing about using multiproject is that it will allow us
to remove the necessity of manually installing the portlet-api-1.0.jar
into the local maven repository (because multiproject will install it
before attempting to build anything with a dependency upon it).

I think the effort is very minimal, but I'm not neither sure if there
are any disadvantages (perhaps we need maven 1.0-rc1 as a requirement
instead of B10?) nor if the nightly build then is really working.
But if there are no disadvantages then it makes sense anyway.

If noone else wants to do it, yes :)

I would like to get the nightly build fixed ASAP.

Would it be a big effort to change the implementation? What are the
disadvantages, if any exist? Does anyone object to change the Maven
build in this way?

Carsten, would you volunteer for making the necessary changes?

I'm not sure, but I think we should move to the multi-project feature of
Maven and avoid using the reactor. Perhaps then the build.xml is correct.
Using the multi-porject feature would also help in generating a better
web site with API docs etc.
