   I see your point about minimizing the amount of code in main repository.
   The question is what we would do when all JS tests are ported over? How we would integrate it into `make check`? 
   
   I worked under the assumption that it is not OK to ask developers to install two versions of Erlang manually. Also as you pointed out debian has outdated version of Elixir. 
   
   I am sure there are better ways to do it. Any feedback is welcome. I am happy to move this into https://github.com/apache/couchdb-ci if we wouldn't find a better solution.
