RE: Tomcat not sending session cookies to IE

In case anyone is still wondering. This link points to the source of the
problem.
The basic issue is that a "patch" provided by Microsoft for IE 5.5 and 6.0
causes
cookies to be rejected from servers with non-alphanumeric characters, such
as "_" 
in their names. In my case, I had two servers ecc_51 and ecc_rg, that were
both
exhibiting this problem. Session problems went away when names were modified
to 
ecc51 and eccrg.

hi Mike,
a nice way to debug this would be to print out the data being sent back and
forth.
If you want, you can put my java loadbalancer in front, and set it to
debugString and it will print out the HTTP packages being sent.

at the end of the page, there is a loadbalancer, there is a flag
"-debugString" that will print out every request and response to standard
out. That way you can see what your cookies are set too.

can you give us an example of how your cluster hostname is different from a
hostname on any other machine, and also, are you running Apache in front of
Tomcat?
