validators.schema.XUtil ?
am i mistaken, or did there used to be a class in
"org.apache.xerces.validators.schema.XUtil"
i can't seem to find it in 2.8.0

It hasn't existed [1] since Xerces 1. Much of that code probably survived
the Xerces 2 re-write and now lives in org.apache.xerces.util.DOMUtil.
