Why WorkBench is shown as default in JMeter and can't be deleted?

When Opening a new jmeter file WorkBench exists

WorkBench also can't be deleted although when saving WorkBench isn't saved by default.

Also It's confusing for newbies that we can add logic and samplers which won't be executed and saved.

I almost never use WorkBench so I wanted to know why it's important.

Why WorkBench is shown as default in Jmeter and can't be deleted?

You'll be happy to know that Workbench is now dropped in nightly build and
in upcoming version of JMeter:

Hello,
As it name states it, workbench was initially designed to be transient and
contain draft work in progress.

It differs from test plan as It can contain additional elements recorder,
mirror server and show properties.

Since many version it can be saved and is now saved by default.

It is true that it could be confusing for newbies, but can you propose an
alternative that would be easier for newbies ?

Thanks
