           Product: Apache httpd-2
           Version: 2.2.13
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: trivial
          Priority: P2
         Component: prefork
        AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
        ReportedBy: Craig@haquarter.de

Hi,

http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/en/mod/mpm_common.html#maxrequestsperchild
says "Default: MaxRequestsPerChild 10000"
but Apache 2.2 comes with a config file which says "MaxRequestsPerChild 0". One
of those should be fixed, I guess.

The documentation reflects the compiled-in default when no directive is used in
the configuration, it does not document the contents of the default
configuration file.

I'd suggest that the compiled-in default being 10k in the absence of the
directive is the bogus part, if we suggest a default conf that sets it to 0
everywhere but beos!

In trunk, I've made the compiled-in defaults and doc match the default
configuration -- 0.
In 2.2.x, I've updated the doc to mention the difference between the
compiled-ind efault and a common default configuration.

Thanks for the report.
