Should I get the nightly build?
Hello, I was just wondering if I should EVER try/attempt to get the "Nightly Build" version of Tomcat or not???!! I just last nite downloaded/installed the version 4.1.16 of Tomcat without any problem at all, but I was wondering if I am possibly an advanced enough user of Tomcat by now to try to get the nighly build version given that I read on the web page that these are extremely unstable, i.e., like "playing with dynamite", in a sense!

Actually, the 3.3.2-dev nightlies are currently very stable (since there
isn't much going on with new-feature development at the moment, just
bug-fixes). The 4.1.x nightlies are mostly stable, since most of the
new-feature development is happening in the 5.0.x line. There is always the
chance that you might grab it on the one day that someone has added a bug,
but it's not too likely at the moment. It should usually be good enough to
install on a development box. Of course, the 5.0.x nightlies are like
"playing with dynamite".
