I wanted to call, Cordova.exec(null, null, "CDVSplashScreen", "hide", []) since navigator.splashScreen is gone in cordova.

Then i noticed that the CDVSplashScreen entry in the plist is wrong:

I uninstalled all my other versions, and installed 1.5.0 then I created a new 1.5.0 project, and tested the code with AutoHideSplashScreen:NO, and calling navigator.splashscreen.hide after a 3 sec delay. It hides the splash-screen, as expected.
I also checked that it goes through the correct code in Obj-C and it does. So outside of this, it might be another type of error, outside of the Cordova code.

The key for Cordova 1.5.0 is: org.apache.cordova.splashscreen : CDVSplashScreen
Is that correct? I tried changing the key and value to: CDVSplashScreen : CDVSplashScreen
but didn't work.
I'm trying to debug some issues with the splash screen. I thought I had everything working great using this: https://shazronatadobe.wordpress.com/2011/09/15/ios-phonegap-splash-screen-control/

Everything works fine when I install from Xcode, however, when I restart the iPad (I'm on 5.1) and launch the app it just hangs on the splash screen and will not enter the app.
I noticed this same issue if I adjusted the delay for the hide below 1000 (1 second). The splash screen would just hang.

@Fil It's to show/hide the splashscreen to get rid of the white flash of the UIWebView at startup. I'll remove the space. Yeah I'll add a thread for the mailing list since this plugin is not in the core, and is external.
@Paul for 1.5.0, that is correct. It's that in 1.6.0 it will change to "SplashScreen" : CDVSplashScreen. For your hang issue, can you post your console.log? Thanks.

@Shazron Nothing shows up in phone gap debugger (debug.phonegap.com). Anyway, for some reason. When I switched back to default 'AutoHideSplashScreen : YES' and took out the 'navigator.splashscreen.hide()' javascript, the splash screen behaves normally i.e. it shows for about 2 seconds before app launches, which is what I wanted from the beginning.

+1 to no space, sounds good to me. Earlier this week we changed the Network Status plugin to NetworkStatus, as plugins on Windows Phone 7 can't have spaces in them - so if we have the opportunity, let's standardize all plugins to be spaceless.
What is the purpose of the SplashScreen plugin? Does it only control showing/hiding the splash screen? If so, we should start a thread about this plugin on the mailing list as Android has capabilities to pluginize this same behaviour. BlackBerry also has control of how the splash screen is shown, rendered, animated, etc. but it is done declaratively via the config.xml file. Perhaps similar work could be done on Windows Phone 7.

@Paul are you using iOS 5? Try hooking into window.onerror to see if there is an error in the PhoneGap script: https://developer.mozilla.org/en/DOM/window.onerror
I'm going to debug this on my end to see if it's an Obj-C issue.

@Shazron In the console.log there aren't any errors or differences in the log between a successful run and a non-successful run i.e. app hangs or rather splash screen doesn't hide. I will try the online phonegap debugger

That value is correct, you should change to that. The Cordova JS has been unified to work with Android, the core plugin names have been changed for the JS.
Fil, can you comment on "Splash Screen" plugin in Android? Is it used? If not I would prefer it to be all one word instead of a space in between words.
