After waiting another day, I downloaded the program again and this time, it was able to load on the computer.

Whether this is a new hard disk or not is hardly relevant; the only influence the hard disk is likely to have is that of not having sufficient space for the file, which with modern hard disk sizes is unlikely to arise.

We need to determine if the file you are downloading is actually truncated (short), in case the error message arises in error from some other part of the process, as can often happen.

Please use the methods set out here
http://www.openoffice.org/download/checksums.html
to verify the downloaded file.

Also, what Antivirus and Firewall are you using?

Due to family circumstances I may be offline for the next few days, so please reply to the mailing list at

Marcus,
I have downloaded this program 6 times and it tells me that I am unable to open it because it did not download properly. Then it tells me to contact you to fix it.

I have also gone to the direct download and some of the mirrors and tried with the same response.

This is a brand new hard drive. the 3rd in less than a year. I have downloaded the same program each time.

Mary

When trying the links from below I always get a correct file downloaded.
Furthermore, I don't see any problem from the values you have posted.
Finally, you haven't told anything about what the real problem is that
