[jira] [Created] (BIGTOP-2034) Explicitly select what kite modules to build

Mark Grover created BIGTOP-2034:
-----------------------------------

             Summary: Explicitly select what kite modules to build
                 Key: BIGTOP-2034
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BIGTOP-2034
             Project: Bigtop
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: debian, rpm
    Affects Versions: 1.0.0
            Reporter: Mark Grover

Based on a recent thread "Issues with Kite build" on Bigtop dev list, we should selectively build modules of kite, instead of building everything like we do today. If we build everything, we pull in a bunch of dependencies that aren't necessary.

It was suggested on the same thread to use a command like:
{code}
-pl kite-tools-runtime -amr
{code}
instead of the status quo.
