imanewbie - please help

Hi - i have jdk 1.3 installed and want to run fop just on some examples
( i guess they are correct ). But it seems like it is not responding - i

always get the introduction how to name the files in the command line -
i guess i know it by now ;)

By the way - where can i get a good documentation about xsl:fo ?
Perhaps in german ?
