The status of Persistent Manager

Hello,

I am looking forward to using Tomcat's Persistent Manager to do high
availability. As I searched through Tomcat's docs @
http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/tomcat-4.1-doc/config/manager.html the
manager is still considered experimental.

Who knows about the status of the Mgr? How mature is it in production
environment? Any comments?
