Tomcat 4.0
Thanks to the Tomcat docs I've managed to get sssl working on my tomcat4.0
w/ Java sdk1.4 installation.
I've been going through the mailing list archives looking to see if anyone
has had any success using
a verisign certificate with Tomcat. I've seen lots of questions about it but
not too many responses.
Has anyone been able to get a stand alone Tomcat working with a verisign
certificate yet?
Nick

And how must be configured the CA public key certificate in tomcat to
perform client authentication ??

Why so many jars in Common
Posted by Terrence Martin <tw...@its.to>.
I was wondering why there are so many more jars in common in the release
of Tomcat 4.0 than is mentioned in the Docs?
I have moved for example jaxp.jar and crimson.jar in the sever/lib dir
rather than common/lib. Now the server/lib is not mentioned in the docs, I
assume these libs are only used by tomcat? Does this sound reasonable?
XML jars is an issue for us as we need to be able to seperate the XML
stuff used by the app server and the app. This is one of the main reasons
we are gining 4.0 a try.
Cheers,
Terrence
Error running 3.2 app under 4.0

Here is the latest logfile that I generated. Seems to be some load
failure. Now in my app I do not use JSP at all so I am not sure why it is
trying to load Jasper.

I haven't tried it with a Verisign cert yet, but, I've been able to import
certs signed by my test CA no problem. Have a look at the tools
documentation that comes with the JDK for the keytool command. After you
have the tomcat key in there, you do a -certreq, give that certificate
request to Verisign, get back the signed certificate, then do a -import and
that's it.
