Idea / Suggestion to improve future version of SA

I'm posting this idea here to see what the dev's think about improving
the --lint feature of SA to detect when a RTBL starts tagging everyone.

Maybe --lint isn't the best place for this, but it might be a nice feature
to have!

Would it be possible to make a querry against the RBL's and see if they
match a randomly selected IP (known not to be listed?)?

I seen a program (fluffy SMTP proxy) which had built in support for finding
dead RBL's by querry'ing for an IP address which is not listed. The only
difference is that fluffy would automatically stop using the dead RBL. I
don't see how that'd be possible with SA, but it's the idea I'm after.

I brought this up here, as a way to get other idea's about how one might
tackle this problem if it ever becomes a problem in the future.

Perhaps write a user-friendly error message to syslog or the Win32 error
log, pointing the user to a course of action (set score to 0) in the
documentation?

Any interest in adding Sys::Syslog or Win32::EventLog support to
spamassassin (the script) for 3.1?
