Test case TestTimeoutPlaceholderAllocReleased can fail with the following:

2024-01-08T05:36:30.6547474Z     application_test.go:1502: assertion failed: app.getPlaceholderTimer() is nil: Placeholder timer should be initiated after the first placeholder allocation

The placeholder timeout is too low (5 msec). We need to use a higher value.
