Pre-Release Announcement of a new Lenya demo site

To the Lenya community

Quoin would like to announce the pre-release of a new Lenyademonstration
site (http://demo.qwips.quoininc.com/) and encourage
community members to visit this new online resource.

The objective for the demo site is to provide a complete, functioning
demonstration of Apache Lenya, Bitflux BXE, and other tools to support a
realistic authoring and publishing environment. For this site, we
created a fictitious organization and staff -- Project Cornerstone;
however, the intent is that this provides an example of how a corporate
workgroup, University department, professional practice, or some other
organization might use the technology.

The demo site will also show the capabilities of our QWiPS product - a
packaging of Lenya, BXE, design templates, information architecture,
additional features (such as an RSS feed), and custom implementation for
clients.

Prior to official release, we are completing the work necessary to
support a range of browsers. However, for now, please access the demo
site using Mozilla 1.6 or *earlier* releases. Also, if there are any
responsiveness problems, please understand that this is still hosted on
a non-production server in our Princeton NJ office, but will be moved to
a production server for general availability. We expect to continue
testing and remediation for a few weeks, and release before 1 October.

Please use the username: "quoin" and password: "demo" for authentication.

We invite feedback on presentation, content, features, and respect for
the Apache Lenya brand and other open source frameworks. We hope that
this will prove to be a useful resource for the entire community. Please
send me and Mark Steinwinter (mark.steinwinter@quoininc.com) any input.

Thanks,

Brad Kain

Nice.

Just remember to remove the bxe_xpath attribute in
<div bxe_xpath="/xhtml:html/xhtml:body" id="qi-struct-content">
when the page is rendered live and be careful of your id's as in
http://demo.qwips.quoininc.com/lenya/com_quoininc_wps_demo/live/index.html

with validation error
<snip>
Line 127, column 41: character "/" is not allowed in the value of
attribute "id"

... <ol><li><a href="index.html" id="/index">Home</a></li>
</snip>

An id (or name for that matter) attribute must start with a letter than
can have any combination of letters, numbers, hyphens, underscores, and
a couple of others things.

Other than that cool ;)
