What is CompareFunc deprecated in lieu of?

I have someone who wants to implement CompareFunc, but it's deprecated...
but it doesn't seem like there is a clear alternative. Appreciated guidance!

We dropped it in 0.7.0, see http://wiki.apache.org/pig/Pig070IncompatibleChanges
