help to compile the src distribution

Hi to all,

im in trouble, maybe im stupid, but i dont see any informations on docs
on how to compile
the src distribution.
i got the following packages:
jakarta-ant.tar.gz
jakarta-taglibs.tar.gz
jakarta-tomcat.tar.gz
jakarta-tools.tar.gz

then i extracted the jakarta-tomcat.....
reading the README i saw i need to compile the jakarta-ant packages
before, so i go to
proceed to compile it, i extract it and i go to read the README.... that
say to run the ./build.sh
script... and i got right now this error:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
org/apache/tools/ant/Main
well i didnt find any help about this error...
so i decided to made a try, im gone into jakarta-tomcat and i ran
./build.sh and i got the same
error...

well i tried to get informations on the web, on the packages... but no
way !

please help me, i dont want to get the binaries distributions.
