[jira] [Commented] (NIFI-506) Build processors to handle HL7 (Health Level 7) data

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NIFI-506?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=14490012#comment-14490012 ]

Joseph Witt commented on NIFI-506:
----------------------------------

Feedback:
1) i think those test files need proper license consideration. If we dont' know their origin/licensing/allowances we can't use em. Would need to gen up something before including.
2) A query language like this is awesome. We should definitely spawn off a ticket to create documentation and examples of its use. Very cool that the HAPI library is as far along as this one seems to be.

Comments:
- Make sure to run check-licenses to ensure that the RAT checks pass. If they don't then you'll want to update the pom to exclude those test files as they should not have the header given that they never would in the wild.
- This HL7 support is obviously quite helpful for medical use cases. But given its industry specific nature this is a good example of a case for having a registry mechanism for extensions and/or some other model. Would be good to get different community perspectives on whether to include things like this in apache projects or whether it is better to have it external. Not sure.

+1 if you resolve the licensing issue with test resources and kick off a documentation JIRA for the query language.
