[jira] [Commented] (CASSANDRA-12597) Add a tool to enable/disable the use of Severity in the DynamicEndpointSnitch

Jay Zhuang commented on CASSANDRA-12597:
----------------------------------------

We also set severity to an arbitrary high number to reduce the read traffics while maintenance. What's the benefit of disabling severity vs. set severity to 0?

> CASSANDRA-11737 and CASSANDRA-11738 add the option to allow disabling the severity in DynamicEndpointSnitch. I think it would be useful to also add nodetool command to enable/disable the functionality, so that we can switch it on and off without restarting the node.
