[jira] [Updated] (SOLR-12442) Improve error message when a policy
is violated while creating a collection
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-12442?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:all-tabpanel ]
Varun Thacker updated SOLR-12442:
---------------------------------
Environment: (was: On master when I have this policy setup
{code:java}
curl -X POST -H 'Content-type:application/json' --data-binary '{
"set-cluster-policy": [
{"cores": "<4","node": "#ANY"}
]
}' http://localhost:8983/solr/admin/autoscaling{code}
Now if I try to create a collection where the policy will get violated , I'll get the following message in as a response
{code:java}
{
"responseHeader":{
"status":500,
"QTime":13},
"Operation create caused exception:":"org.apache.solr.common.SolrException:org.apache.solr.common.SolrException: Error getting replica locations",

"code":500}}{code}
Which doesn't tell the user much about the error.
Here's what's available in the logs
{code:java}
