Newbie to soap

Hi,

Is there a tutorial available on programming SOAP with Java ?
I want to integrate my Java application with COM based applications without
using any proprietary tools & protocols.

Will SOAP help me in doing this? I have a feeling that it can as Both Apache
and MS support SOAP.
