[jira] [Created] (ACCUMULO-608) simple.BloomFilter test too hardware sensitive

John Vines created ACCUMULO-608:
-----------------------------------

Summary: simple.BloomFilter test too hardware sensitive
                 Key: ACCUMULO-608
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ACCUMULO-608
             Project: Accumulo
          Issue Type: Test
          Components: test
    Affects Versions: 1.5.0-SNAPSHOT
            Reporter: John Vines
            Assignee: John Vines
             Fix For: 1.5.0

the simple.BloomFilter was was a problem for me as I was validating ACCUMULO-235. Only once I exited out of two other applications (Firefox and Eclipse) did it function properly. We should attempt to make it work on weenier hardware, if possible. We could accomplish this either by scaling it down a little bit, or strive for relativistic performance results by writing data, compacting, measuring scan time, and then anticipating some improved scan performance by major compacting with the bloom filter enabled.

John Vines commented on ACCUMULO-608:
-------------------------------------

stress.batchWriter.WriteLots and stress.restart.KilledTabletServerSplitTest may also be too sensitive to weeny hardware.
