error: You don't have a SNAPSHOT project in the reactor projects list.

Hi,

I'm using Maven 2.2 on Mac 10.5.6. I'm trying to release a non-snapshot
version of my project, but getting the error "You don't have a SNAPSHOT
project in the reactor projects list.", when running "mvn release:prepare".
Google has not told me much about how to overcome this error . Can you?

Thanks, - Dave

Re: error: You don't have a SNAPSHOT project in the reactor projects list.

Posted by laredotornado <la...@gmail.com>.
I discovered the problem was that the connection URL for cvs was wrong in my
pom.xml file. When I changed that (while leaving the version at 1.0.1 -- a
non-snapshot version), everything worked. - Dave

Re: error: You don't have a SNAPSHOT project in the reactor projects list.

Posted by Justin Edelson <ju...@gmail.com>.
It means what it says. You can only use the release plugin if the project
(or projects in a multi-module/reactor build) have SNAPSHOT versions. In
Maven-world, a non-SNAPSHOT project has already been released.
