Unable to configure Maven2 under Continuum (bin\mvn version return code 255)

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to install a standalone version on continuum, and make it use a
maven 2 installation. This is a most basic plan so I hope someone will be
able to help me.

I run windows XP and my installation folders are the followings (I tried
several combinations of beta and stable versions, none works) :

C:\JAVA\apache-continuum-1.4.0 or C:\JAVA\apache-continuum-1.3.6

C:\JAVA\apache-maven-2.0.11 or C:\JAVA\apache-maven-2.2.1

First I launch Continuum (the first time, it takes more time) in console
mode or as a service (I tried both) and I login as admin.

Much like the administrator's guide indicates, in the "Installations" menu,
I click on add build tool and then Maven 2 with the path :
C:\JAVA\apache-maven-2.0.11

I get the message "Failed to validate installation, check server log", which
one says :
"2010-06-09 23:27:37,781 [btpool0-2] ERROR
org.apache.maven.continuum.web.validator.InstallationValidator - Failed to
validate installation, check server log. cli to get
C:\JAVA\apache-maven-2.2.1\bin\mvn version return code 255"

This is not a JAVA_HOME issue, because when I type
C:\JAVA\apache-maven-2.2.1\bin\mvn -v in a command prompt, I get a correct
output message :

Apache Maven 2.2.1 (r801777; 2009-08-06 21:16:01+0200)
Java version: 1.6.0_20
Java home: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_20\jre
Default locale: fr_FR, platform encoding: Cp1252
OS name: "windows xp" version: "5.1" arch: "x86" Family: "windows"

Does anyone has an idea on what "version return code 255" means ?

Please let me know if I am not clear enough, I am not used to mailing lists.

There is only 1 user account on my computer so it's not a permission
problem. When I start maven manually it works, but continuum can't do it
itself.

Maybe there's a problem with the permissions? Does the user account you've
used to start Continuum have permission to access the maven installation?

Thanks,
Deng
