[m2] Config files as a build artifact - C# plugin

Gents,
 
I am trying to publish 2 artiftacts from a build one being the main code
lump (in my case it is a dotnet exe/dll), the other is the associated config
(text file with extension .config). Does anyone have any idea how I can get
maven to push up/pull down the config as well as the main lump?
 
I know how I would solve this in Java (by adding files to the jar as
resources) sadly dotnet has an over complicated resource system which I
don't think even caters for .config files.
 
Any help as normal much appreciated,
