[jira] [Closed] (SOLR-6198) Core name in core.properties is ignored
[ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-6198?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:all-tabpanel ]
Erick Erickson closed SOLR-6198.
--------------------------------
Resolution: Cannot Reproduce
Please raise questions like this on the user's list before raising a JIRA.
1> this worked for me fine with a trunk build.
2> likely your solr.xml file is still configured to define the cores so the properties file is being ignored.
I did have to copy solrconfig.xml to config.xml to make your entry work though.
P.S. we can reopen this JIRA if it actually turns out that there is a problem.

> Key: SOLR-6198
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-6198
> Project: Solr
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: multicore
> Affects Versions: 4.8.1
> Environment: Windows 8.1
> Oracle Corporation Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 1.7.0_60
> Reporter: Michiel van Oosterhout
> Priority: Minor
> Labels: core.properties
>
> I started the example server using {{java -jar start.jar -Dsolr.solr.home=C:\solr\home}}. In C:\sor\home is a directory named core, in which there is a file named core.properties, with the following content:
> name=test
> config=config.xml
> schema=schema.xml
> dataDir=data
> After starting Solr the name of the core is 'core' according to the Core Admin page, not 'test' as expected.
