[VOTE] 4.5.0 release candidate 2

This is a vote for Impala 4.5.0 release.

The artifacts for testing can be downloaded from:

https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/impala/4.5.0/RC2/

Git tag: 4.5.0-rc2 <https://github.com/apache/impala/releases/tag/4.4.1-rc1>
https://github.com/apache/impala/releases/tag/4.5.0-rc2

Tree hash: 6b9785ea94ba496a0418bbda10cbcb0d3ece1b56

Release manager: prozsa

Artifacts were signed with the 869DF5BED2FB82F2 key which can be found in

https://downloads.apache.org/impala/KEYS.

Please vote +1 or -1. -1 votes should be accompanied by an explanation of

the reason. Only PMC members have binding votes, but other community

members are encouraged to cast non-binding votes. This vote will pass if

there are 3 binding +1 votes and more binding +1 votes than -1 votes.

Voting is open for 72 hours (excluding weekends).

This wiki page describes how to check the release before you vote:

https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/IMPALA/How+to+Release#HowtoRelease-HowtoVoteonaReleaseCandidate

I tested this by running CORE tests:
https://jenkins.impala.io/job/parallel-all-tests-ub2004/2075/

Fixes included in RC2:

https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IMPALA-13728

https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IMPALA-13742

Also, after fixing IMPALA-13742
<https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/IMPALA-13742>, I tested that both
CentOS7 and Redhat 8 packaging are working.

Thanks, Laszlo for checking it. I'm preparing RC3 as we have to include one
more fix in this release.
I'll double-check the packaging this time.

Thanks, Peter

Re: [VOTE] 4.5.0 release candidate 2

Posted by Laszlo Gaal <la...@apache.org>.
-1 (binding)

Ran the release-test-ub2004 job on Jenkins, which failed:
Unfortunately there is a mistake in the release tarball: the top directory
inside the tarball is called apache-impala-x.y.z
instead of the expected apache-impala-4.5.0. Perhaps
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/IMPALA/How+to+Release
was followed a bit too closely :)

Although I'm not sure if fixing this would call for a new release
candidate, but the new tarball would surely require
a new signature, so the cleanest way forward may still be to cut a new
release.

Thanks,

  - LaszloG
