Sounds good. I've currently set the fix version for the next branch-1 minor release and the next major release.

Personally, I don't think we should change out-of-the-box behavior in a way that will cause a new finding against a deployed hbase cluster by automated security scanning tools. I'd be fine with having a version of the above proposed fix on maintenance release lines, provided the operator config defaulted to disabling OPTIONS on those release lines.
