Dear All,

I just started using JMeter 2 days back and so far
have been testing some priliminary level samples. I
would like to get some more understanding and if some
one could respond to my queries, would be of a great
help for my learning in JMeter.

1) I have got a webbased application which so far
processing a query from a table which has 3 lacks
records and now the volume has increased to 13 lacks,
due to some data porting.
 ==> Should I go for a JDBC sampler or a HTTP sampler.

2) Also the above mentioned app server and my database
resides on the server and I have a same encironment in
my PC and trying to check these results. Is there any
way that I can do a remote server testing from my PC.

3) I have a web based application which has 7 pages
and any user logged in will navigate all the 7 pages,
but based on the inputs the sequence of pages differ.
How do i perform this testing and If i am simulating a
30 users input, how do i pass the data.

Though these are very silly, need some help. Thanks in
advance.

which version of jmeter are  you using?  If you want to crank up the
through put, i would use multiple client machines. monday night I ran
some benchmarks against tomcat for static files and I was able to peak
around 9.5Mb/sec throughput (~1200req/sec).

Unless the server has multiple ethernet cards or a gigabit ethernet
card, 5-6 client machines should be able to saturate the server's
network IO. That's assuming the webserver holds up.

Hi,
I am not sure if this is the right forum to ask this question.
I am using jmeter to run a load test. I see full GC kicking in often
despite increasing the HEAP and NEW size.
   I am looking for a better throughput as in more requests per second.
But I fear because of full GC happening often I am unable to see the results 
that I want.
  How do I tune GC parameters so that I see better results.
If any of you have an idea or a good link that may be helpful, pls. let me 
know.
   Jmeter is running on Solaris with 512MB . I am not using any Listener 
Tree etc. The results
are written to a log and jmeter runs in nongui mode.
