Ruby connector framework screencast

Hi,

I just added Ruby initial connector framework to subversion. Here's a
screencast using it with simple Ruby on Rails page -

I was wondering if the potential user base for the parser library could be wider than that for the full server application, especially if it was available for different languages/platforms. However, there may not be much demand until more people become aware of the spec, so perhaps the timing isn't right to do porting yet.

Another thing I was wondering was that, as the parser lib doesn't have any GPL dependencies, could it be released on its own?

Why? What does that bring to the project?

I'm not saying people shouldn't do it if they want to, I'm just
wondering if it is something I should be pushing in community
development work.

I was thinking it might be good to port the W3C Widget parser library to some other languages, too - anyone interested?

I think you have to be a mathematical specialist to even want to look at
it :)

Stick to Perl, Ruby and PHP and the world is just fine :)

I searched for Haskell examples and articles. I really don't like it,
doesn't make sense to me at all.

Just humour Raido - nothing bad intended. Haskell is a mathematical
programming language - just had to look at an OReilley book of how to
program it for a colleague. It looks horrible!

Yes there are :D.

Ruby (and Python) are both new to me, both those connectors are made,
just after reading a little bit documentation and working through some
tutorials.

Basic connectors are really easy to write.

Are there any languages you don't write in? Can we have a COBOL
connector please ;-)
