The meetings are informal and highly conversational. If you have
questions about Hadoop and map reduce this is a great
place to ask them.

Seattle Hadoop Distributing Computing User Meeting

    Bringing Hadoopists Together On the 3rd
        Thursday of the Month

We focus predominately on distributed data
processing using a map reduce style. The meetings
are open to all and free of charge. 

When: Thursday July 15th, 7:15 prompt start - 8:45
Where: University Heights Community Center, Room 211

Outline for July 15th:
    
    Parallel Distributed Image Stacking and Mosaicing with Hadoop:
    Keith Wiley from the University of Washington explains 
    with real world acumen how Hadoop can be used for
    processing astronomy data.

    Disco MapReduce, Python + Erlang: Sean Jensen-Grey
    will provide a hands on introduction to a light
    weight MapReduce framework that supports native
    python map and reduce tasks. Starting with 
    installation, using the DDFS (disco dfs) and
    running / debugging jobs.
