[jira] [Commented] (PHOENIX-5983) Set Hadoop dependencies as provided in phoenix-server

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/PHOENIX-5983?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17149361#comment-17149361 ]

Istvan Toth commented on PHOENIX-5983:
--------------------------------------

With these patches phoenix-server built with HBase 2.0, 2.1, and 2.2 has identical dependencies shaded in, and even changing the hadoop version doesn't seem to make a difference.

The resulting shaded jar goes down to 60MB from 69MB, but is still significantly bigger than the 4.x one, which may warrant further investigation. (i.e. there may be other dependencies provided by HBase that we could omit from the shaded JAR)

It is not an issue for 4.x, as the shading setup is default exclude there.
