The ExecutionEngineImpl in the contrib/extensions/bgservlets module uses a plain Executor, it should use Sling's ThreadPoolManager instead.

That module's ModifiableThreadPoolConfig can be used to customize the pool, which is created via ThreadPoolManager.create(ThreadPoolConfig config, String label);
