[ANNOUNCE] Velocity Engine 1.6-beta1 released

The Velocity developers are very pleased to make the first beta
release of Velocity Engine 1.6-beta1 available for download.

This release contains many bugfixes, new features and drastic
performance improvements. Please see the change log
(http://velocity.apache.org/engine/devel/changes-report.html) for a
full listing. This should be a drop-in replacement for Velocity 1.5.
