   Hi, 
   
   Mynewt 1.6 was released so this should be fixed. Since we noticed some inconsistency among windows enviroments, we also decided to add an option to tune this.
   
   By default on windows escaping is enabled but can be disabled with '--escape=false'  option eg  'newt --escape=false install -v'
