Actually, it is a problem when you use Chrome with HTTPS Everywhere, since that extension always switches you to https, meaning you can't load the page without disabling the extension (or using a different browser without the extension).

I agree we don't necessarily need to serve this over https (these are pretty generic bits of data, even for an end-user who is somehow concerned for their own browsing safety), but we really should at least redirect the user back to http: so it works.
