[jira] [Created] (CASSANDRA-12727) "nodetool disablebinary/thrift"—the documentation does not clearly say whether this works as a drain or an immediate cut off

Alexis Wilke created CASSANDRA-12727:
----------------------------------------

Summary: "nodetool disablebinary/thrift"—the documentation does not clearly say whether this works as a drain or an immediate cut off
                 Key: CASSANDRA-12727
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-12727
             Project: Cassandra
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Documentation and Website
            Reporter: Alexis Wilke
            Priority: Minor

The documentation, as found here:

https://docs.datastax.com/en/cassandra/3.x/cassandra/tools/toolsDisableBinary.html

Says:

.bq Description
.bq Disables the binary protocol, also known as the native transport.

It is not clear to me whether this means existing connections will be drained before they get closed, or whether those connections all get closed immediately, whatever their state.
