I had a look at your screenshot, but I couldn't get it. Now, with the detailed description, it is more clear now. Thx. Does this only happens for yaml files? This is defnitely a bug, not an improvement, what you want to improve? Not all filenames, that are to long are stripped down. As you can see a lot of files, some has less characters are stripped too. So this is a bug, not an improvement. It is not about calling it because of making it more sense, it is because it is a bug.
There is nothing to improve, there could be a problem (bug) inside of some things, that draws/shows the labels of the files.
