repository manager interface for review

Hi,

Here is a rough interface that I have been working to, which I have
fleshed out. These should be all the features in a first beta, but there
are more ideas in JIRA.

http://people.apache.org/~brett/repoman-site/index.html

Any thoughts?

Cheers,
Brett

Good work Brett!

My (small) comments:

Regarding [1], artifact.html seems to miss some required elements,
like packaging or url. Moreover, mailing lists (not required) should
be on the info page.
The size of the table in artifact.html should be consistant with other pages.

For the layout, as already said, reviewed CSS for links. Moreover,
browse.html should be a big page in future like [2] so think about the
best police to be used.

Cheers,

Vincent

woops, i mean dividing the navigation bar and the contents with a bar ^_^

If someone wants to i18n it for US English, then they can -
Synchronisation is the correct spelling :)

Good day to you, Brett,

pardon, i meant the one with

     o Find
        o Search
        o Find Artifact
        o Browse Artifact
     o Manage
        o Reports
        o Synchronisation
        o Administration
           o Proxied Repositories
           o Synced Repositories

...i suggest that it's style is the same as that of maven (the apt generated
style).

my layout comments are focus mainly with familiarization. IMHO, if we can
make MRM's layout same or similar with that of Maven, then maven users would
have little problem navigating and using it.

btw, i have another minor comment:
the "Synchronisation" menu item under the "Manage" menu, should be spelled
"Synchronization" ^_^

just my 2 cents ^_^

I've just reused the one contributed to Continuum, which matched the
logo that we voted for :)

We can certainly reskin it or change the colours - I'll keep that in mind.

That might work, though it needs a more obvious nav bar than the site, I
think.

which menu do you mean? This application will be run by many in their
own environments.

I agree, will wait and see what the designer I have looking at it can
come up with :)

will do

good idea

they are already there, so I guess this means they aren't obvious enough :)

Thanks!

Good day to you

Here are my comments:

* LAYOUT
  * most (if not all) of the apache projects have a bluish look to
them...MRM however has brownish look
  * i suggest applying an APT site look to it.
    * since this is for maven, i suggest that the menu list be the same as
that of maven
    * i suggest removing square surrounding the contents (i.e. contents of
info, dependencies, etc), and just divide the navigation (i.e info,
dependencies, depended on by, mailing list) with a bar,
    * apply the apt site's Section title to the sections (i.e. Info's "Other
Details" and "SCM" sections)
  * +1 on Denis' remark regarding links
  * I like how the search results are displayed ^_^

* CONTENT
  * A "Help" would be nice :)
  * as well as some links to existing docus of a particular search results
(maybe within Info.html)

just my 2 cents ^_^
