need some pointers
Hi,
I'm really new to Maven, and I need some pointers on what's the best way
on how to integrate Maven with a project I'm working on for my team.
My project is a Java application that has a Client Side and a Server
side. Right now, I'm only focusing to get Maven working with the Client
side. Within my client side, there are three modules. Each has its own
src directories. Here is a rough outline of the directory hiearchy:
MyApp
|
|__Dir A
|
|__config
|__etc
|__images
|__src
|
|__Dir B
|
|__lib
|__src
|
|__Dir C
|
|__resources
|__src
Right now I have an Ant script written for each module, and another ant
script that call those three ant scripts in order to build the project.
How would I get Maven to do the same thing as my ant scripts?
Also, I'm not sure how Maven creates new versions for each new build.
The versions element in the project descriptor tell us what are the
previous versions.
Can anyone help me with my questions?
Thanks a lot,
-Wendy

Use the multiproject plugin. The next command do what you want :
maven multiproject:install
For the doc take a look at
http://maven.apache.org/reference/plugins/multiproject/

I am not sure what you really want to know here.
version element indicate whitch cvs tag you need to use to get a
previous version of the source.
You need to manage curent version number yourself with the currentVersion
<currentVersion>1.1-SNAPSHOT</currentVersion> during the dev
<currentVersion>1.1</currentVersion> the generate the production release
