   "both" remains useful in situations where are host has multiple IP addresses, which comes up with things like Amazon S3.
   
   If I am understanding this, you would like to incorporate information about the child in the bucket selection criteria? E.g. a key that's a three tuple of <client, fqdn, addr> so you can split the available connections to fqdn:addr among the clients.  If you could set the name key for the match, would that suffice?
