mod_rewrite und WordPress

Heidiho!

Ich verwende wordpress auf Apache 1.3 und möchte und unschöne URLs a la
http://www.domain.com/blog/index.php/category/misc re-writen und zwar in
der Art, dass das index.php verschwindet.

Ich habe mal folgendes probiert:
RewriteRule ^/blog/index.php/(.*) /blog/$1 [R]
RewriteRule ^/blog/(.*) /blog/index.php/$1

Das funktioniert (natürlich) nicht, aber irgendwie in der Art muss das
doch gehen, hat jemand eine Idee wie?
