   FWIW, I'm in favor of both 2 & 3: we should control our upgrades and not have them unexpectedly change, but we should also follow a reasonable upgrade cycle and not use outdated cryptographic functions.
   
   That being said, the arrow project in general lacks a surplus of front-end development skills, so it option 3 makes the most sense to me if we only have the resources for 1 of the above.
