[jira] [Commented] (QPID-7837) Malframed AMQP 1.0 packets can lead to ClassCastException

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/QPID-7837?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=16072274#comment-16072274 ]

Keith Wall commented on QPID-7837:
----------------------------------

The mailing list thread concerns itself with detection of the illegal composition of the annotated message. I imagine Rob saw the ClassCastException from org/apache/qpid/server/protocol/v1_0/messaging/SectionDecoderImpl.java:50, but there may be others. There is a wiser point about the detection of AMQP 1.0 performatives that have been composed incorrectly. I think this can be covered by QPID-7531.

> As per this thread, the Broker can fail unexpectedly with illegal input.

> The implementation should be sufficiently robust to fail the connection, but the Broker service should survive.
