Feed user experience changes (request for feedback)

Hi dev,
For the past two weeks, there has been some discussions among members of
this community (Mike Carey, Till, Yingyi, Raman, Chen, Jianfeng, Heri,
Steven, and myself) about a proposal for changing the feed user experience.

These discussion resulted in a proposal document that has been uploaded to

The main proposed changes are:
1. The user control the flow of data through the use of start/stop feed
statements.
2. The applied functions have been moved from feed definitions to feed
connection definition.
