After so many years and this has not been fixed...
A video denoting the problem (and a solution) is showing here.
For the solution, prefixed styles can be used. Write the text with Style-A, and
the apply style-B.. If there is a need to change the text, reapply Style-A,
change the text, reapply Style-B... etc...

Please fix that ASAP .. It's a must-have for Open-Office DRAW, as many
draws/schematics etc they are need resizing in order to fit in
documents/presentations etc...
