Bragging...

Here's another commercial site that uses Velocity :

While they are a consulting client of mine, (as well as friends, so I
feel I can brag), this is entirely the work of the talented crew at
Adeptra who decided on Velocity after looking at JSP and another
template engine.

I am 100% certain that we will be seeing them participate soon in the
community.  They just are a bit busy at the moment :)
