[HEADS-UP] Quarkus 3.27.2 and Spring Boot 3.5.10 Update
Hi Apache KIE community,
Thanks to the Jijo Thomas K and Nithin R Krishnan work (thanks!!), we are
glad to announce we completed the Quarkus 3.27.2 and Spring Boot 3.5.10
update (for the "backend" repos only, tooling will follow). The following
PRs are ready for review:
- https://github.com/apache/incubator-kie-drools/pull/6575
- https://github.com/apache/incubator-kie-kogito-runtimes/pull/4178
- https://github.com/apache/incubator-kie-kogito-apps/pull/2298
- https://github.com/apache/incubator-kie-kogito-examples/pull/2162
Those two framework upgrades are crucial for Apache KIE evolution and
maintenance, and to release a 10.2.0 version founded on a strong
foundation. Apache KIE currently relies on:
- Quarkus 3.20.3, which will reach End-of-Life (EOL) at the end of March
[1].
- Spring Boot 3.4.11 which already reached its OSS End-of-Life (EOL) in
December 2025 [2].

Thank you for the heads up and for the good news in this front.
Btw: (sorry for hijack) It could be a good opportunity to clean the pending
infinispan removal that is waiting for review and merge the changes in
pipeline otherwise it'll keep breaking the build as it explicit mention a
component that is removed.
